Rebuilding after the Hurricane….
Now over a month out from Helene, the death toll has surpassed 100 and so many neighborhoods, towns, homes, and businesses are completely destroyed. 80% of the River Arts District is destroyed. The devastation is overwhelming.
My studio, although on the second floor of Riverview Station, was submerged in 4’ of mud and water in the flood, destroying most of my supplies and equipment. Thankfully, only one painting, pictured here, was damaged by the water. I’ve written about it on my blog if you’re interested in learning more.
As we all are, I’m adjusting to this reality and am working to rebuild. For now, I have created a nook in my home within to work and am slowly replacing my materials and supplies thanks to the generous donations from family, friends, and strangers.
If you would like to contribute to that effort, my family started a gofundme and my online shop is open. 20% of all sales will be going to help those affected through direct mutual aid.
